Council follows the procedures documented in the Community Government Council Handbook published by the Northern Territory Local Government Industry Training Advisory Board Incorporated. Please consult the CEO / Town Clerk to obtain a copy of this publication.

Conflict of Interest

Council adheres to the guidelines relating to Conflict of Interest as described in the Community Government Council Handbook. Council applies this policy where decisions need to be made relating to Councillors or interested parties who are 'close friends' or 'close family'.

Where it is impossible to exclude family (usually on the grounds that every Councillor present may be related to the person/decision being discussed) this is noted in the Council minutes and in the Interest Register maintained by the CEO / Town Clerk. Identification of who is considered close family or close friends is decided upon by Council consensus.
